Austrian Audio opened its doors on July 1st, 2017. Made up of former AKG staff after the closure of their legacy home in Vienna, they set out to create something new, challenging, and respectful to their heritage, while carrying on and upholding the reputation that had been built up over many years.

The OC818 is a multipattern dual output condenser microphone with world’s first optional wireless control. The handmade CKR12 ceramic capsule is made to same critical dimensions as the best legacy CK12 capsules Austrian Audio could find, measure and record. The OC818 features multiple polar patterns, microprocessor control of polarization voltages and two analog high-pass filters with three settings.

The true power of the OC818 is available when used with the PolarPilot app (Android and iOS), which allows wireless control over your analog: patterns, high-pass and pad in real-time via BlueTooth! The PolarPilot app allows you to discover and create 255 discrete polar patterns and save, recall, and share your favorite settings. The OC818 is always pure analog. It is only the analog bias voltages that are being governed remotely. Switching also is always analog. There is no digital in either the audio or bias paths. It’s everything you want, with nothing you don’t.
